Hemkund Sahib

Hemkund Sahib is the holy religious place of the Sikhs. It is in the Garhwal division of Uttarakhand. Hemkund Sahib is the symbol of the faith of Sikh religion, which is settled in the Himalayas. Every year hundreds of thousands of pilgrims come from all over the country to visit here. Hemkund Sahib is situated at an altitude of 4329 meters above sea level between the hills and snow-covered peaks all around. The journey here is very difficult. To go to Hemkund Sahib, devotees have to go through the icy route. Here ice is kept for 7-8 months in a year and the weather remains very cold. Let me tell and take you to this holy shrine tour.

How to go here and when?

Hemkund is the Sanskrit word. This means that the snowflake. Hemkund is the famous gurudwara of Sikhs on the banks of the lake. The Gurudwara itself has Lakshman Temple. Being surrounded by high peaks in the snow, the atmosphere here is very quiet. In this goddess of nature, there are Sikh devotees coming from India, not only from India but also from abroad.

Visitors can go from Hemkund Sahib road and airways. If you are going through the road then you will have to go through the Rishikesh-Badrinath motorway. To go here, devotees will have to go to Govind Ghat, two kilometers before Pandukeshwar. Govind Ghat has to travel more than 20 kilometers on foot. Govind Ghat is situated on the banks of the river Alaknanda. Govindghat gets uphill climb upstairs.

How to reach Govind Ghat?

To reach Govindghat, devotees have to cross the Alaknanda river, swinging the bridge. From here the village will be in Purana. After this the climb becomes difficult because the path is very rocky. After this Ghanthar base camp falls and here the distance of Hemkund Sahib is about 7 km.

How to reach via air route and the train?
