Pilgrims Will Not Be Able To Worship In Yamunotri Dham this year

Delay in the reconstruction work of the disaster affected Yamunotri Dham, there is anger in the Tirtha Purohit society. Due to the erosion caused by the river Yamuna, more than 50 people have not been able to stand in the temple premises.

In such a situation, the pilgrims have shown their inability to perform darshan and worship in the temple after seeing the danger of not having completed the bridge and other security work connecting the temple to the Dham before the Char Dham Yatra.

In July last year, a huge catastrophe hit Yamunotri Dham in the Yamuna river. Due to the disaster due to the main bridges connecting the temple many dams, such as the Bath Ghat, the hot tub, the office of the society, were destroyed, for which the priestly society has long been demanding to rebuild.

Jagmohan Singh Uniyal, Vice President of Yamunotri Temple Committee, Secretary, Krishteeshwar Uniyal, spokesman, Bageshwar Uniyal said that Lonivi started constructing a bridge in Dham just a few days ago. So far the irrigation department has not started construction works like ghats and security wall etc.

The late work is not expected to be completed before the opening of the cupboard. In view of the danger situation here, the committee has decided to open the gate of the temple only for the morning prayer and worship of the morning and evening after the opening of the kapat. The remaining doors of the temple will remain closed.

A budget of 1.54 crore has been approved for the protection work in Yamunotri Dham. The tender process of these works has been completed. Due to heavy snow accumulation in Dham, the work has not started yet. Efforts will be made to complete the work as soon as the ice melts, before opening the cupat.

The Priests Worship By Binding a Bandage on Their eyes And Mouth

Uttarakhand is not called as godland only. Apart from Hari Nagar Haridwar, Rishikesh and Chardham : Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri, there are also many mythical temples of deities. One of these temples is Latu Deity. This temple is situated in remote village varieties under the Deval Vikas Khand of Chamoli district. Latu Deities Temple are situated at an altitude of 8500 feet above sea level. Latu Deity is considered to be the religion brother of goddess Nanda Devi of Uttarakhand. This is the 12th halt of the longest ‘Sri Nanda Devi Ki Raj Jat Yatra’ in Uttarakhand, in the 12th century. Latu Deva congratulates Nanda Devi from Hemkund to Varan village.

It is said about the Latu Deity temple that ‘Nagraj’ resides with the Mani in the form of Sarvshit inside this temple. The devotee is afraid to see the nag, and therefore the mouth and eye belt is formed. It is also said that the smell of the priest’s mouth did not reach the deity, hence the bandage is kept in the mouth of the priest during worship. Figures are not seen in the Latu Deity temple. Only the priest goes for worship within the temple.

According to the villagers, ‘Nag Mani’ is in the temple. Eyes can be lighted on seeing the Mani, so the priest enters the temple by binding the bar on the eye and devotees worship the devotees at a distance of 75 feet from the temple. On the day the valves of the Latu Deity temple open, on that day the text of ‘Vishnu Sahasranama’ and ‘Bhagwati Chandika’ is also organized. The Latu deity considers the locals as ‘Adhabad deity’. The valmet of the temple of Latu Deities situated in the varieties opens only once a year. A huge fair is organized on this day. There is great reverence among the people towards the Latu deity. People come to the temples of Latu and take their pleasure, they say, Manokamana sought is fulfilled from here.

There is such a legend about Latu Deity that when Lord Shiva was married to Devi Parvati, also known as ‘Nanda Devi’. To depart, all the brothers went to Kailash. It also included cousins Latu. Latu was so thirsty in the way that he started wandering around for water. Meanwhile, the Latu deity was seen to show a house and entered the house in search of water. The owner of the house was elderly. The elderly said to Latu Deva that drink water in the corner, drink water. Inside the glass pot, there was water in the pot (locally made raw liquor) and the second pot of soil, but life (local level raw liquor) remains so clean that Latu takes it as clean water and drinks it. .

When Latu learns that he has drunk alcohol in the water, then soon after the wine starts showing his effect. Latu deities begin to add to their drunkenness. Seeing this, Goddess Parvati gets angry and puts Latu in jail. According to the order of Goddess Parvati, the Latu deity is always kept in captivity. It is believed that the Latu deities are held in the prison as a huge snake. Do not be afraid to see the priest, so he binds his eyes to open the door of the temple.
