Explorers trek past Tapovan up the Dhauliganga River to achieve this sacred spot. The icon of Narsimh (the god with the head of lion) is cherished here. Customarily it is trusted that daily will come when the present course to the Badrinath will be difficult to reach and the Lord Badarinath will be adored here and this is the reason the place is called Bhavishya Badri.

Bhavishya Badri, likewise spelt as Bhabisya Badri, 2,744 meters (9,003 ft), above ocean level is situated in a town called Subhain at a separation of 17 kilometers (11 mi) from Joshimath, past Tapovan and approach is through thick woodland, just by trekking. It is arranged on an antiquated explorer course to Mount Kailash and Mansarovar, along the Dhauli Ganges River. It is arranged in transit from Tapovan to Lata in the Niti valley. Bhavishya Badri is associated by a motorable street to Saldhar,19 kilometers (12 mi), from Joshimath, past which a 6 kilometers (3.7 mi) trek is embraced to achieve the place of worship.

As per the legend of Bhavishya Badri (actually "Badri without bounds"), when detestable rises above the world, the mountains of Nara and Narayana would obstruct course to Badrinath and the holy altar would end up difficult to reach. The present world will be demolished and another one set up. At that point, Badrinath will show up at the Bhavishya Badri sanctuary and be revered here, rather than the Badrinath holy place. The sanctuary of Narasingh Badri at Joshimath is nearly connected with the legend of Bhavishya Badri (see area beneath). Presently, the Bhavishya Badri has a picture of Narasimha, the lion-confronted manifestation and one of the ten symbols of Vishnu.
